Returning unchanged for 2025, the Blizzard Rustler 9 with Tyrolia Attack 14 GW Bindings is celebrated for its agility and precision, combining impressive floatation with remarkable versatility. Whether carving on groomers or floating through powder, the Rustler 9 exemplifies the ultimate do-it-all ski. It’s designed to handle any terrain and weather conditions, making it a standout choice for skiers who want a reliable all-mountain performer. We paired the Rustler 9 with the Tyrolia Attack 14 GW because of the Attack’s light weight, reliability, and ease-of-use for all mountain and freeride skiers. Additionally, ample elastic travel and direct power transmission function to ensure these bindings cater perfectly to the needs of demanding freeriders.

Why we like it:

The Rustler 9 stands out as one of the most versatile and well-rounded skis available, offering exceptional performance across a wide range of conditions.

Who it's for:

Advanced to expert skiers will gain the most from the Rustler 9’s sophisticated design and performance, benefiting from its advanced build and shape.

Highlights:

The Rustler 9 features Blizzard’s Trueblend Free Core, which creates specific flex patterns for different parts of the ski, providing a balance of forgiveness and stability. Titanal laminates around the ski’s outer edge enhance damping and edge grip, making it extremely effective on firm snow and steep terrain. The Attack 14 GW’s FR PRO3 Toe contains 30 mm of elastic travel which provides a smooth and confidence inspiring feel when tracking though variable snow while also recentering the boot to its neutral position extremely well to keep you locked in, acting almost like a suspension system. NX FR Heel pieces have 16 mm of elastic travel which assists in prevent false-releases. These heel pieces also make stepping into and out of bindings with ease, even in deep snow.

Things to consider:

The Rustler 9 is well-suited as a daily driver for both East and West Coast skiers. However, at 96 mm underfoot, it might be slightly narrow for those West Coast freeriders who prefer a wider ski.

Fit & sizing considerations:

These skis are true to size. Aggressive skiers might consider sizing up, while intermediate skiers could benefit from sizing down for better control.
