The 2026 Salomon Stance Pro 96 is a brand-new addition to Salomon’s high-performance all-mountain lineup, bringing top-end power, precision, and stability to the 96 mm freeride platform. Sitting on the wider end of the Stance Pro series, it’s designed for aggressive skiers who want a directional ski that’s at home on firm groomers but has enough shape, rocker, and backbone to crush crud and dive confidently into off-trail terrain.

Why we like it:

The Stance Pro 96 is as composed and confident as they come. It blends the trench-laying attitude of a frontside charger with just enough shape and rocker to be genuinely capable off-piste. It's fast, strong, and rewarding for skiers who like to drive their skis from tip to tail.

Who it's for:

This is a ski for advanced and expert directional skiers who value edge grip and stability, but want a bit more versatility and width for deeper snow and variable terrain. Ideal for Western all-mountain skiers or aggressive East Coasters looking for a ski that can handle mixed conditions without compromising firm-snow performance.

Highlights:

At the core of the Stance Pro 96 is a Karuba/Poplar wood core, chosen for its energy and stiffness-to-weight balance. It’s reinforced with Salomon’s Double Ti laminate for maximum damping and edge grip, and their Twin Frame 2 construction increases torsional rigidity through the forebody of the ski. With a 96 mm waist, full camber, and rocker in the tip (17%) and tail (12%), it stays planted in firm snow but releases easily when needed. Turn radii in the 17–20 meter range keep things stable at speed while still being responsive when you want to tighten things up.

Things to consider:

The Stance Pro 96 is a strong ski. It doesn’t demand perfection, but it does prefer to be driven. Skiers looking for a loose, surfy feel or ultra-forgiving flex might be better served by something with less metal or more rocker in the tail like the QST 94.

Fit & sizing considerations:

Skis true to size. Skiers who want to maximize stability and top-end performance should stick with their standard all-mountain length. For increased agility and quicker pivoting, sizing down is an option, though this ski rewards staying in a length that matches your style and ability.
