This gentle glide wax cleaner lifts old racing and universal wax without wearing on the base structure. A clean base takes the next coat more readily, so fresh glide wax soaks in deeper.

Why we like it:

It cleans without putting any hard mechanical stress on the base, so you can strip residue between wax jobs without scraping away the structure you paid to have ground in.

Features and Functions:

Swix built this cleaner for racing and universal glide waxes, and it also removes fluoros, which makes it the reset button when you're moving away from older fluorinated products. The routine is simple: apply it with Fiberlene, rub the base with a white nylon brush while it's still wet, then dry it with clean Fiberlene and let the ski sit for 5 to 10 minutes. A light pass with a wire brush or a roto wire brush opens the base back up before new glide wax goes on. Swix specifies it for glide zones only, so keep it off the kick zone of a classic ski, and the 500ml bottle covers a lot of bases between refills.

Bottom Line:

This is the cleaner for a bench that sees steady traffic, whether that's a team waxing room or a family that hot waxes every weekend. Reach for it whenever old wax or fluoro residue has to come out before a fresh coat.
