2021 Nordica Santa Ana 104 Women's Skis

The ladies are going to love these new offerings from Nordica. The Santa Ana 104 Free is a new model for 2021 and follows roughly the same blueprint of the men’s Enforcer version. At 104 mm underfoot, these skis are getting up there in the width category, and they’re entering the freeride and powder worlds. In addition to the shape, which is great for floating and smearing in soft snow, the rocker profile is pretty generous with a ski of this level of burliness. 35% in the tip and 25% in the tail, the rocker profile is more than enough to offer tremendous flotation in the face of endless snow. Nordica calls it the Powder Rocker, and it sounds good on our end. One of the big things with Nordica this year is changing up the Santa Ana build. While last year, the line had a lightweight wood core and two sheets of metal, this Santa Ana 104 has a Performance wood core with one sheet of metal. That one sheet of metal is terrain-specific to the ski, so at 104, the Santa Ana has a smaller metal sheet than its narrower sisters. This adds playfulness and flotation to the character but still allows for some serious stability and stiffness when the ski is brought to higher speeds. The taper leads to a shorter turn radius, so at the 165 cm length, the skis generate a 16-meter turn radius. This is very helpful with flotation and round turns.
