The Volkl Deacon 72 Master skis are the narrowest offering in the Deacon line up, Volkl has taken World Cup level construction and trickled it down in a width that's slightly wider than a conventional GS ski with a much shorter turn radius. At 16.4 meters in a 178 length, it's not a slalom short turning, but short enough to make a good skier really come across the fall line with quickness and consistency. A World Cup Ash core is paired with full Titanal construction, Tailored Carbon Tips and World Cup binding plate. There is also a little bit of tip and tail rocker to smooth out turn initiation and give the ski a more forgiving and approachable feel to this ski compared to a full-on race ski. The result is powerful, responsive and quick turning ski for the true expert skier who like to rip a flurry of turns down a face of a groomer. It's a true front side ski that really shines on groomed surfaces. It's not really intended to be skied off trail unless you have impeccable technique and are strong.
