Brand-new for 2025, The Armada ARV 112 is an athlete inspired design specifically for freestyle powder skiing that can handle full throttle charging. Its long and low rocker profile coupled with a poplar wood core provide plenty of stability and pop for high speeds and big impacts. Slashy and playful yet sturdy on edge makes the ARV 112 an absolute blast in anything from the deepest of powder to low tide conditions during a dry spell.
Why we like it:
The ARV 112 fills just the right space between the ARV 106 and the ARV 116 JJ in Armada’s lineup. What it brings to the table is a freestyle ski that can handle deep snow, high speeds, and big impacts with ease. The rocker profile makes it surfy and slashy yet able to hook up and make some great carves on trail when in the resort. An absolute weapon for the west coast and quite the east coast powder ski.
Who it's for:
This ski is for freestyle skiers who want a strong and stable powder ski for both in the resort or the backcountry. It is a bit heavy for long missions but would be perfect for sidecountry or shorter objectives. Backcountry jumps, cliffs, and pillows are this ski’s jam but when you take it into a resort setting, its versatility truly comes to light.
Highlights:
A poplar wood core with an ash binding insert makes this ski incredibly energetic and responsive while also strong enough for big sends. Armada’s W3dgewall sidewall also makes it supremely durable for impacts on rocks or covered tree branches so you can keep skiing all day long. The long and low rocker profile makes them feel surfy but also planted at the same time inspiring confidence wherever you go.
Things to consider:
Being a freestyle oriented powder ski means that the ARV 112 has a fairly symmetrical shape from tip to tail and a fairly centered mounting location. Some skiers may find that the tips don’t stay on top of the snow surface as well as other skis with more splay. Trust us, this thing floats but it does it in a slightly different manner than other powder skis. What you gain from this is its ability to pivot and smear. Going back to the semi-symmetrical sidecut, this ski prefers to be skied more upright and centered over the ski compared to a traditional body position.
Fit & sizing considerations:
Skis true to size, if you would like more high-speed stability and maximum floatation you may want to consider sizing up.
