Ski Size

Returning for 2025, the Black Crows Justis is the definition of a do-it-all charger in terms of on-trail trench generator and soft snow slasher. Exceptionally powerful, precise, and damp the Justis feels at home in virtually any condition with a level of smoothness that is pretty much unparalleled in the ~100 mm underfoot category. The Justis provides a type of intuitiveness not found in many other skis in the ways of the higher the edge angle, the more stable and tighter the turn radius; along with enough tail rocker to make powder performance effortless and flickable.

Why we like it:

Loads of power and precision without the unforgiving and unintuitive nature. Most skis of this stiffness and power come at the cost of maneuverability and flickability, not with the Justis.

Who it's for:

Advanced to expert skiers who like to ski hard and aggressively who seek a ski that has not only top end carving performance, but also the utmost soft snow prowess.

Highlights:

A robust poplar woodcore reinforced with fiberglass laminates make for a stable and smooth ride. A core profile gets very thick underfoot which boosts not only stability but energy and pop out of the turn. Double H-Shape titanal laminates and an aluminum tail insert dampen vibrations as well as provide torsional stiffness for maximum edge grip. The rocker profile and sidecut are shaped in a way that the higher the edge angle, the tighter the turn radius and the longer the effective edge. This results in an extremely intuitive ride and insanely smooth turn initiation and release.

Things to consider:

The Justis is a fairly heavy ski and requires a good deal of skier input to get it to properly engage. Due to the short effective edge on lower edge angles, there are better skis out there for pure boiler plate snow conditions. The lack of taper in the tip can make them a little grabby in very deep snow.

Fit & sizing considerations:

Skis true to size. Since they are quite stiff and powerful, it is recommended to size down slightly if you want some off-piste maneuverability. Sizing down slightly will not make for a drastic drop in carving performance.
