2025 Elan Playmaker 111 Skis

A whole new ski for 2025, the Playmaker series gets a new kid on the block with the Playmaker 111. Taking the success of the playmaker 101 and 91, the 111 takes their fun having, creative, personality to powder. Featuring a playful shape and flex pattern, the 111 is a versatile freeride powder ski intended to float and slash through powder and get some major hang time.

Why we like it:

As the name describes, this ski is all about fun. Soft flexing tips and tails make for creative maneuvers when in the powder and an intuitive feel when wiggling through the trees.

Who it's for:

Intermediate to advanced skiers looking for a playful freeride powder ski that is not going to tire you out and punish you after a long day in the deep snow.

Highlights:

Elan’s Tublite Woodcore keeps the overall weight of these skis to a shocking minimum to keep them as maneuverable and agile as possible all day long. Carbon rods provide additional stability and stiffness underfoot for when the speeds get high and when your airs get even higher. 360 Sidewall construction contributes to the overall stiffness and durability of the ski by acting as a vertical laminate. When material in a ski is in a vertical plane, the stiffness of the ski increases.

Things to consider:

The Playmaker 111 has a soft tip flex, which can get deflected quite easily in chopped up variable snow. For aggressive, heavier, skiers the Playmaker 111 may find these skis to ot be as stable as some other skis in this category. Lighter skiers have been found to get more of a benefit from the softer flex pattern.
