2026 Elan Ripstick 102 Black Edition Skis with Tyrolia Attack 14 GW Bindings

the Elan Ripstick 102 Black Edition paired here with Tyrolia Attack 14 GW Bindings is crafted for aggressive skiers seeking a lightweight, maneuverable and responsive ski. This special edition features two extra carbon rods and an additional carbon laminate underfoot, enhancing both stiffness and performance. Ideal for wide-open pitches and high-speed descents, the Ripstick 102 Black Edition is built to meet the demands of serious freeride enthusiasts. We paired the 102 Black with the Tyrolia Attack 14 GW because of the Attack’s light weight, reliability, and ease-of-use for all mountain and freeride skiers. Additionally, ample elastic travel and direct power transmission function to ensure these bindings cater perfectly to the needs of demanding freeriders.

Why we like it:

The Ripstick 102 Black Edition distinguishes itself with its impressive quickness and agility. Its lively and smooth ride makes it a standout choice for those who appreciate both performance and fun.

Who it's for:

Advanced to expert skiers will find the added carbon laminate and rods beneficial, as they provide increased stiffness and energy for high-performance skiing. Backcountry adventurers who need a lightweight ski capable of handling diverse snow conditions will also appreciate the Ripstick 102 Black Edition.

Highlights:

The Carbon Frame integrates Carbon Deck, Quadrod, and C-Ply technologies to enhance power, edge grip, and stability, especially at high speeds and over rough terrain. The Quadrod reinforcement in the Black Edition provides added stability and rebound without adding weight. C-Ply laminates underfoot offer additional grip and stability, particularly beneficial at high velocities and in variable snow conditions. The Amphibio Rocker in the tips ensures smooth transitions from edge to edge on both hard surfaces and in soft snow. With a low stand height of just 17 millimeters, the 2027 Tyrolia Attack 14 offers an impressively close connection to the snow, delivering precise power transmission and a confident, locked-in feel. The FR Pro3 toe piece allows for a full 180 degrees of boot release, enhancing safety in a variety of fall scenarios, while the AFS (Anti-Friction Slider) ensures reliable re-centering and consistent release characteristics. Built to withstand hard use, the Attack 14 combines durability with performance, making it a go-to option for aggressive skiers who demand trust in their gear.

Things to consider:

Despite the increased carbon content, heavier and more aggressive skiers might find the Ripstick 102 Black Edition somewhat supple compared to other skis in its category. Lighter skiers generally benefit more from the added carbon features.

Fit & sizing considerations:

The Ripstick 102 Black Edition skis true to size.
