The all-new Fischer Ranger Nightstick 97 with Marker Griffon 13 ID Bindings merges freestyle and freeride characteristics into one versatile setup. Designed for both competitive and recreational freestyle skiers, this model offers a blend of pop and stability, plus a twin tip shape, making it ideal for tackling various snow conditions and terrain with a freestyle approach. We paired the 97 with the Marker Griffon 13 ID because of the Griffon’s precision and reliability for all mountain and freeride skiers. With a robust construction and all the best tech, the Griffon 13 is a popular high-performance binding choice for wider-bodied skis for good reason.

Why we like it:

The Nightstick 97 enhances the features of the Ranger series with a more playful, freestyle-oriented design. This combination allows freestyle skiers to extend their creativity and skills across the entire mountain, not just in the park.

Who it's for:

The Nightstick 97 is best suited for advanced to expert skiers who excel in freestyle and freeride disciplines and want a ski that performs equally well in the park and off-trail.

Highlights:

The Nightstick 97 features a poplar wood core that gives the ski a responsive pop, rebound, and tons of stability. To reduce weight, small sections of the core are milled out using Fischer’s Air Tec technology. The core is reinforced with Fiber Tech, a fiberglass laminate that runs the length of the ski, enhancing energy and stability. Additionally, titanal laminates are used in the underfoot area to improve durability, binding retention, and protect against rail impacts. The Sandwich Sidewall Construction integrates durability and power transfer, while also adding extra pop off jumps. As we’ve come to expect from Marker, there’s no shortage of tech packed into the Griffon 13 binding. Marker’s Triple Pivot Elite Toe and Inter-pivot 3 Freeride Heel systems work in tandem to provide improved edge grip and control, as well as helping to mitigate vibrations for a smooth ride. A cleverly placed anti-ice rail sits on top of the toepiece and can be used to scrape off those pesky clumps of snow and ice that accumulate on the sole of your boot. With Multinorm (MN) boot compatibility, the Griffon 13 is a versatile and reliable choice for a huge range of skiers and applications.

Things to consider:

While the Nightstick 97 is versatile for freestyle and freeride skiing, it may not excel in on-trail carving, as its design is focused more on freestyle performance.

Fit & sizing considerations:

The Nightstick 97 skis true to size.
