The soft and forgiving flex on the First Lite makes it catch-free and easy to maneuver at slower speeds ideal for riders who are still learning and getting comfortable linking turns. The shape and rocker profile makes it perform well in most conditions with enough rocker to give you decent float in deep snow and a twin shape to make it easy to ride regular or switch.

Who it's for:

The First lite is a great option for beginner level riders who don't want to work too hard. Decent in all conditions and terrain whether you are riding groomers on the east coast or riding deep powder out west.

The Aspen core on the First Lite provides excellent durability and a more consistent flex without sacrificing weight or maneuverability. The Catch Free tune brings the contact points out of the snow making it easier to maneuver and less likely to catch an edge and fall. The low maintenance Extruded Base makes for easy upkeep and repair for the life of the board.

Things to consider:

The softer flex on the First Lite lacks the stability that a more aggressive rider might want, and you do sacrifice some stability and edge hold without any camber, but this makes the board a lot more forgiving and easier to turn. The extruded base makes maintenance and repair easy but it does not hold wax as well so you will find yourself waxing this board more.

The First light rides true to size, but you can size up if you are looking for more stability at speed.
