2025 Salomon QST 106 Skis

Back again for 2025, the Salomon QST 106 remains one of the most well rounded freeride skis on the market due to its maneuverability and intuitiveness. With a playful shape and balanced flex pattern, the 106 is a dream when it comes to surfing through fresh snow and blasting through crud. A pillow popping, edge gripping, smear master in all conditions and terrain, the QST 106 is truly in a league of its own.

Highlights:

A full poplar woodcore is used in the QST 106 with a fairly thick core profile to provide maximum energy and pop while also granting stability and power to the ski without making it unforgiving. A C/FX laminate running the length of the ski uses carbon and flax to add energy to the ski while also damping vibrations for a smooth and springy feel. Cork Damplifiers are inserted into the tips and tails of the ski to provide further vibration damping during high-speed descents through variable snow. Finally, Double Sidewall Technology is used underfoot to produce immediate power transfer and stability underfoot for a planted and confident experience.

Things to consider:

The QST 106 does not have any metal in it so there is a limit to their torsional stiffness and edge grip on firmer snows. There is considerable rocker in the tips and tails which can make them feel fairly loose on firm snow.
