Revised for 2025, the Blaze 104 returns with some minor tweaks but retains uphill efficiency and downhill prowess. These changes have made them slightly stiffer and in turn an elevated amount of carving performance compared to the previous version. Initially marketed as a touring ski, the Blaze 104’s resort application quickly became evident with the majority of users finding themselves putting hybrid or alpine bindings on them for everyday soft snow use. A lightweight construction and extremely versatile shape have made it a household name in the realm of all-mountain and backcountry explorers.

Why we like it:

There is a lot to like about the Blaze skis as a whole, but the 106 is special due to its all-mountain freeride versatility. Its light weight makes it easy to maneuver and opens a lot of opportunities for touring or side country adventuring.

Who it's for:

Intermediate to expert freeriders who are looking for a quick and agile package for outright exploration.

Highlights:

One of the major changes made to the Blaze 104 is that it gets Volkl’s 4 Radius Drive, which gives the 4 different turn radii depending on which portion of the ski is driven and weighted. The tips, 2 underfoot zones, and aft portions of the skis have specific sidecuts. Mulitlayer Green Wood Core keeps the weight down by utilizing recycled plastic to take up space in the core. Suspension Tips and Tails dampen vibrations by using a rubber composite in the extremities. Rounding things out, the 104 also gets an updated Titanal Binding Platform that is full width in the underfoot zone to bolster carving and firm snow edge grip.

Things to consider:

The Blaze 104 is fairly light and does not have full length titanal from tip to tail as it is only located in the underfoot zone. So, if you are looking for outright carving performance, there are other skis out there that are better suited to that style. However, the 104’s have a generous amount of tip and tail rocker and a light weight which results in loads of agility and maneuverability, especially in softer snow.

Fit & sizing considerations:

Skis true to size.
