Redesigned for 2026, the Stöckli Montero AS with Strive 13 bindings continues to shine as a premium frontside-focused all-mountain ski that blends firm snow carving performance with soft snow versatility. Thanks to updated flex technology, improved reinforcement in the binding zone, and a new 3D construction, this ski feels more playful and responsive while retaining its signature power and legendary Stöckli feel.
Why we like it:
It’s the rare ski that can rip groomers with race-like precision and still feel intuitive in mixed terrain. The updated construction makes the AS even more accessible without losing the power skiers have come to expect from Stöckli.
Who it's for:
Advanced to expert skiers looking for a premium all-mountain tool that leans frontside. Ideal for those who carve aggressively but still like to take detours into soft snow when the conditions call for it.
Highlights:
The 2026 Montero AS introduces new tip and tail flex zones designed to offer smoother turn initiation and better control when exiting the turn, resulting in a ski that feels more playful yet still precise. Reinforcement underfoot improves energy transfer and enhances binding integration for a more direct connection to the ski. The newly shaped 3D profile not only improves flex distribution but elevates the ski’s overall ride quality. You still get Stöckli’s trademark stability and edge grip, now with a more responsive and fun-loving attitude.
Things to consider:
While the updated Montero AS is more playful than previous versions, it’s still built on a powerful, directional chassis. It expects good input and solid technique to perform at its best, and lighter or more relaxed skiers may prefer something with less torsional rigidity. It’s not a freeride twin or soft-snow floater. This is still a Stöckli, and it loves to be driven.
Fit & sizing considerations:
Skis true to size. Stick with your typical length for the best balance of power and agility. Lighter skiers or those who prefer quicker maneuverability may consider sizing down slightly to better access the ski’s playful flex zones.
