2027 Volkl Blaze 114 Skis with Tyrolia Attack 14 GW Bindings

The 2026 Volkl Blaze 114 with Tyrolia Attack 14 GW Bindings is built for deep days and backcountry missions, offering a lightweight yet capable platform that excels in soft snow. With extended rocker and a maneuverable shape, this ski is designed for powder hounds who value agility and float over brute-force charging. Whether mounted with alpine, hybrid, or tech bindings, it’s a versatile option that’s as happy chasing face shots inbounds as it is breaking trail to secret stashes. We paired the Blaze 114 with the Tyrolia Attack 14 GW because of the Attack’s light weight, reliability, and ease-of-use for all mountain and freeride skiers. Additionally, ample elastic travel and direct power transmission function to ensure these bindings cater perfectly to the needs of demanding freeriders.

Why we like it:

Few powder skis manage to feel this light and nimble while still offering a stable ride. The Blaze 114 stands out for how easy it is to pivot and slash, even in technical or tight terrain.

Who it's for:

This ski is a natural choice for intermediate to expert skiers looking for a directional, surfy powder ski that’s light enough for touring but strong enough for confident descents. Ideal for West Coast storm days or East Coast missions into the backcountry.

Highlights:

The Blaze 114 features Volkl’s Multilayer Green Wood Core, which blends performance and sustainability by using wood and recycled materials that work together to enhance the ski’s energy and stability. Suspension Tips and Tails soak up chatter, while full sidewalls add edge grip for when things get firm. The ski’s shape—long, low rocker in both tip and tail—makes it incredibly intuitive to ski in soft snow, and the 114 mm waist ensures reliable float across deep and variable terrain. With a low stand height of just 17 millimeters, the 2027 Tyrolia Attack 14 offers an impressively close connection to the snow, delivering precise power transmission and a confident, locked-in feel. The FR Pro3 toe piece allows for a full 180 degrees of boot release, enhancing safety in a variety of fall scenarios, while the AFS (Anti-Friction Slider) ensures reliable re-centering and consistent release characteristics. Built to withstand hard use, the Attack 14 combines durability with performance, making it a go-to option for aggressive skiers who demand trust in their gear.

Things to consider:

This ski isn’t built for hard-charging, high-speed descents or freestyle tricks. Skiers looking for something that can absorb big hits or handle aggressive switch landings will want a burlier build.

Fit & sizing considerations:

Runs true to size. Choose your standard length for float and stability, or go slightly shorter for quicker handling in tight trees or steeps.
