The 2027 Arbor Astrowaste with Ride C-2 Bindings came out of Bryan Iguchi chasing a board that is both easy to ride and solid when things get serious, and the answer was a profile that mixes camber and rocker. It is a directional all-mountain shape that starts turns easily and stays loose, but tip it on edge and there is real power waiting. The setup is a good match for riders who want one forgiving board that can still handle a full day of hard riding. We paired the board with the C-2 bindings because these well-rounded all-mountain bindings perform well in most conditions or terrain. A moderate flex makes them stiff enough to charge on groomers but not too demanding that you can’t take them in the park. Built with durable material to last season after season making them a great choice to pair with the board.

Why we like it:

The dual-parabolic profile gives you both sides of the equation, with the catch-free turn starts of rocker and the grip and drive of camber once you commit to an edge. Updated Grip Tech and a pair of 3D Fenders keep the ride smooth and forgiving without ever feeling washy or vague.

Who it's for:

Intermediate to advanced riders who want a board that is friendly but not boring. It suits people who roam the whole mountain and like the security of a wider, floatier platform under their feet, and it is an easy, confidence-building step up from a softer first board.

Highlights:

What sets it apart is the combination of camber and rocker that starts turns easily and still holds a hard edge. The body runs wide through the waist for float and edge power, with updated Grip Tech and 3D Fenders dialing in how the contact points engage the snow. A Highland II core of poplar and paulownia wrapped in mixed glass keeps it lively rather than dull, which is the whole point of a board that feels friendly and stable in the same breath. The composite chassis provides durability without excessive weight, while Ride’s cored ankle straps hug the boot securely without pinching. The footbed is canted to reduce fatigue and promote better stance alignment.

Things to consider:

The wider waist is great for float but it is not the quickest board edge to edge on tight, firm groomers.

Fit & sizing considerations:

The wider waist floats well on its own, so most riders can stay right at their normal length. Step up a size only if you ride a lot of deep snow and want the extra surface area underfoot.
