Ski Size

Built for men chasing FIS points in giant slalom, the Atomic Redster G9 FIS Revoshock is a pure race ski made to the same specification Atomic's top GS athletes run between the gates. An ash wood core, a full-width titanal laminate and full-length race sidewalls give it the torsional backbone that course speeds demand, while steel damping plates underfoot calm a rutted, injected course. Every part of the build points toward one job: holding a clean, fast line from the start wand to the finish in the hands of a trained competitor.

Why we like it:

Revoshock is the reason this ski stays so calm late in a race, with spring steel plates set in an elastomer compound soaking up chatter from a chewed-up GS course before it reaches your boots. We also love the Carbon Boost insert under the heel, which gives the tail a stiff, springy kick that fires you out of the turn and into the next gate.

Who it's for:

This ski is built for men racing GS at the FIS, Continental Cup and World Cup level who need a fully compliant race ski and have the strength and technique to bend it. It belongs in the quiver of an athlete with a coach, a training program and a regular race schedule, someone who already skis a long, powerful arc and wants a ski that rewards precision at high edge angles.

Highlights:

The shape sets the tone: at 193 cm with a 30 m radius and dimensions of 101.9, 65 and 84.6 mm, this ski is drawn to the FIS rulebook for long, committed GS arcs. Atomic's Ultra Power Woodcore uses ash for its strength and rebound, and it's wrapped in Ultra TI Powered, a full-width sheet of titanal that locks out torsional twist when the ski is high on edge. Racewall full sidewalls run the length of the ski for direct edge pressure. Revoshock plates damp vibration where it matters most, and Carbon Boost adds energy at the finish of each turn. Active Camber runs tip to tail with no rocker, the base gets a World Cup finish, and the Icon Interface pairs the ski with Atomic's Icon race bindings.

Things to consider:

This is a competition tool, not an all-mountain or recreational carver, and it is built with no compromises for anything outside a GS course. The long FIS-regulated radius, full camber and stiff titanal construction demand high speed, strong technique and constant input before the ski comes alive, which makes it a poor match for free skiing on an open trail. Skiers who want Redster precision for everyday carving should look to the Redster Q or Redster X lines instead, and racers should plan to pair this ski with an Icon race binding.

Fit & sizing considerations:

This SKU is the full-length 193 cm men's FIS GS ski. FIS race lengths and radii are set by competition rules and race category rather than by body height, so confirm the length your race level requires with your coach before ordering.
