The 2027 Black Crows Corvus with Tyrolia Attack 14 GW Bindings is the original Black Crows ski, the big-mountain charger that put the brand on the map back in 2007. Now in its fifth iteration, it's been completely rebuilt as a true big-mountain weapon, with a wide waist, classic camber, a long turn radius, and a touch of titanal underfoot. It's a ski for big curves, big speeds, and big terrain. We paired the Corvus with the Tyrolia Attack 14 GW because of the Attack’s light weight, reliability, and ease-of-use for all mountain and freeride skiers. Additionally, ample elastic travel and direct power transmission function to ensure these bindings cater perfectly to the needs of demanding freeriders.
Why we like it:
The Corvus has serious authority. It hooks up with conviction at high speeds and delivers a confident, locked-in feel through long arcs that other freeride skis at this width have to work harder to produce. There's a certain stallion-like quality to the way this ski moves through the mountain, and you feel it on the first turn.
Who it's for:
Advanced and expert skiers who want a no-compromise big-mountain ski for fast, committed skiing in big terrain. Ideal for skiers who love long, drawn-out turns at speed, freeride enthusiasts, and anyone who skis open faces, bowls, and powder fields more than tight resort terrain.
Highlights:
At the heart of the new Corvus is a poplar-beech wood core, a stiffer and more powerful pairing than the straight poplar found in lighter Black Crows models. Fiberglass laminates run the length of the ski, with a single titanal plate underfoot to deliver the damping and edge stability you need at this width and speed. The semi-cap construction with ABS sidewalls all around keeps power transfer direct and edge feel honest. The 2027 shape is the headline, though. Classic medium camber underfoot pairs with a double-rocker profile and notably straight running lines, producing a ski that wants to pivot and smear in technical terrain but holds its line through long, high-speed arcs. The 25-meter turn radius is unapologetic about what it wants to do, and a flex that's solid underfoot but progressive in the tip and tail strikes a balance between authority and forgiveness when you hit chunks or transitions. With a low stand height of just 17 millimeters, the 2027 Tyrolia Attack 14 offers an impressively close connection to the snow, delivering precise power transmission and a confident, locked-in feel. The FR Pro3 toe piece allows for a full 180 degrees of boot release, enhancing safety in a variety of fall scenarios, while the AFS (Anti-Friction Slider) ensures reliable re-centering and consistent release characteristics. Built to withstand hard use, the Attack 14 combines durability with performance, making it a go-to option for aggressive skiers who demand trust in their gear.
Things to consider:
This ski expects to be skied with intent. The long radius, stiff underfoot flex, and big-mountain DNA mean the Corvus is not ideal for slower skiers, mellow groomer days, or skiers shopping for a versatile daily driver. Pick one of the narrower models in the line if you want more all-mountain range.
Fit & sizing considerations:
The Corvus skis true to length. Pick the size that matches your usual big-mountain length, or size up if you ski mostly in open terrain at speed.
