2027 Dynastar M-Free 94 Skis

Tighter terrain gets a proper M-Free with the new Dynastar M-Free 94. Slotting in below the 100 and replacing the older M-Free 90 in the lineup, this is the narrowest twin in the family. It uses the same poplar and PU Hybrid Core 2.0 as the wider M-Frees in a more agile, easier-to-handle package, with a directional-twin shape that stays playful in trees, bumps, and tight chutes.

Why we like it:

Sharing the same construction with the rest of the line means the 94 doesn't feel like a watered-down freeride ski. It's nimbler and lighter than the 100 but still has the pop and dampness that makes the M-Free family stand out, which is rare in skis at this width and intended use.

Who it's for:

Advancing intermediates and advanced skiers who want a freeride-style ski that's accessible and manageable. A great fit for Eastern skiers who don't see a ton of powder but want a twin-shape ski for tree skiing, bumps, and the occasional soft snow day. Also a strong progression ski for skiers moving from a more on-trail-focused all-mountain ski into freeride terrain.

All-new for 2027, the M-Free 94 replaces the older M-Free 90 with a wider waist and the latest construction. Hybrid Core 2.0 layers poplar in three directions with PU around the perimeter for the same balanced feel found across the line, and a unidirectional fiberglass torsion box adds torsional stiffness without resorting to metal. The shape stays in the M-Free family with a tapered tip and a partially rockered tail, and the narrower waist makes it noticeably quicker edge-to-edge than the wider siblings. Adaptiv Sidecut and a sandwich full sidewall keep the carving feel crisp for an off-trail-leaning ski, and the Sintered HD base holds up to all-mountain use. Testers have noted that the 94 holds onto a useful top-end speed despite its accessibility, which is a meaningful departure from typical entry-level freeride skis.

Things to consider:

At 94 mm underfoot, this is still a freeride-leaning ski. Skiers who do most of their carving on groomers will get more out of the M-Cross 88, which adds a titanal frame and a more carving-oriented shape.
