2027 Fischer Speedpro 60 Skate Cross Country Skis

Skate skiers ready to move beyond a beginner setup and get serious about technique will find a light, stable partner in the Fischer Speedpro 60 Skate. It's built on a featherweight air-channel core reinforced with basalt fibers and finished with a race-derived base and grind. The result is a stable, efficient ski that glides well in a range of snow and helps you push with confidence.

Why we like it:

The Air Core Basalite Pro core is impressively light and torsionally stiff for a ski at this level, so every push goes straight into forward motion. Fischer also gives it a World Cup Pro base with a Speed Grinding 2.0 finish, which makes it noticeably faster than a typical fitness skate ski.

Who it's for:

Advanced intermediate and advanced skate skiers who want to progress their technique, train harder or try citizen races. It suits skiers ready to step up from a recreational skate ski to something lighter and faster, without the fussiness of a top-tier race ski.

Highlights:

Fischer starts with the Air Core Basalite Pro, an extremely light, torsion-resistant core with volcanic basalt fibers for strength without added weight. On top, Power Layer and Power Cap construction keep the ski responsive and durable, and Fischer's Computer Flex Control process matches each ski's flex to its length so it behaves consistently. The Precision Pairing System pairs skis with matching flex characteristics, so the left and right skis feel the same underfoot. The base is the World Cup Pro material with Cold Base Bonding, prepped with Fischer's universal Speed Grinding 2.0 stone grind and a Finish First final treatment, so it glides well and holds wax right out of the box. The arrow-shaped World Cup skate sidecut runs 41mm at the tip and 44mm through the waist and tail. That shape keeps the ski tracking straight and stable on each push.

Things to consider:

This is a performance skate ski, so it needs a regularly groomed track and a reasonably solid technique to shine. Choosing the right length by body weight matters more here than with recreational skis, and the ski requires a compatible Turnamic or IFP skate binding.

Fit & sizing considerations:

The Speedpro 60 Skate should be sized by body weight rather than height. Fischer's chart runs from 171cm for lighter skiers up to 191cm for the heaviest, and choosing within your weight range keeps the flex working as intended.
