Vibration is what makes a ski feel nervous at speed, chattering over hard snow and loosening its grip, and Fischer's Noize Control technology is aimed squarely at that problem in the Fischer The Curv Noize DTX. Metal pigments worked into a pattern along the ski calm those vibrations, so the ride stays smooth even when the surface is icy and fast. Narrow underfoot like a race ski, the DTX rolls onto its edge in an instant, and its solid wood core, topped and bottomed with thin sheets of titanal, gives it serious hold. A fiberglass reinforcement underfoot keeps the flex a touch more approachable than a full race build, and a flex plate beneath the RSX 12 binding lets the ski bend freely through the turn. It's race-inspired carving for strong frontside skiers who want precision without signing up for a World Cup workout.

Why we like it:

Noize Control is the standout here: printed metal pigments on the topsheet quiet the ski down in a way you can feel on icy mornings, letting the DTX hold a race-like line without rattling your knees. We also like that the fiberglass bridge keeps the flex a little more forgiving than a carbon-built race ski, which makes all that precision easier to tap into.

Who it's for:

Strong advanced and expert skiers who love short to medium carved turns on firm snow are the core audience. It's especially well suited to former racers, coaches, or anyone who skis groomers hard and wants race-ski responsiveness in a package that's slightly more manageable day to day.

Highlights:

With a narrow 72 mm waist and Fischer's Radical Triple Radius sidecut, the DTX is built to get on edge immediately and stay there. Radical Triple Radius is the latest evolution of Fischer's multi-radius shape, designed to make turn initiation even easier while improving power transfer through the whole arc. The core is a Solid Woodcore between two 0.5 mm Shaped Ti layers, while a Fiberglass Bridge under the binding zone stiffens the ski torsionally for edge grip and smoothness. Noize Control applies metal pigments to specific spots on the topsheet, a technology out of Fischer's race department that makes the ski run quieter and accelerate harder out of the turn. The Superflex plate minimizes the effect of plate and binding on the ski's natural flex, and Race Sidewall plus World Cup Tuning mean the edges leave the factory sharp and precise and are easier to maintain down the road.

Things to consider:

This is a traditionally cambered, narrow carver, so it doesn't want to leave the groomers and offers little help in soft or uneven snow. It's demanding in the way race skis are, rewarding precise forward pressure, and skiers who want more forgiveness and width should look at the GT 80 or Noize GT 85.

Fit & sizing considerations:

The Noize DTX sizes true to length. Skiing it a bit shorter sharpens its quickness from edge to edge for short, snappy turns, while a longer length brings more stability and a steadier hold when you open up the radius at speed.
