A full-bore race boot designed for advanced skiers and racers who want true race performance with a flex that's slightly more livable than the top-end WCR 2. With the same RV last, race-spec liner, and full set of bootfitter-friendly features as its stiffer siblings, the WCR 4 RV is a serious tool for anyone driving the front of the boot hard.
Why we like it:
The 130/120 flex is the sweet spot in the Raptor WCR line for a lot of skiers. Strong enough to hold up under aggressive loading, but not so stiff that you're fighting it on cold mornings or in choppy snow. The Spineflex racing buckles with the RD low-profile heads are a real bootfitter favorite; they hold setting reliably and stay out of the way when you're tucked into a turn.
Who it's for:
Advanced skiers, masters racers, and aggressive frontside chargers who want a real race boot without the World Cup-only stiffness of the WCR 2.
Highlights:
This is HEAD's mid-stiff race boot, built on the proven RV 1500cc last that runs in the low-90s mm width range across the size run; properly snug for a race fit but not punishing for skiers with average-volume feet. The Racing WCR Pro LF liner is the same one used in the stiffer WCR boots, with an adjustable tongue, optional laces, and a racing footbed that bootfitters can build on. The shell is foam-compatible if you want a fully custom fit, and the 53mm Velcro power strap gives you serious cuff lock-down. Race-relevant geometry is all here: 13 degrees of forward lean, 4 degrees of ramp angle, race balance, FIS-approved sole thickness, and a flat foam wedge under the foot. Cuff alignment, rear support tuning, and racing flex tuning let bootfitters dial the boot in to your exact stance and skiing style.
Things to consider:
This is a true race fit. If you're not used to a sub-95mm last or you have high-volume feet, this is going to feel tight. Plan on a proper bootfitting session. Also, the 130 flex is genuine; lighter or less aggressive skiers will likely want to step down to the WCR 6 SC or look outside the race line entirely.
Fit & sizing considerations:
True to size, with a tight race fit. Don't size up for comfort.
