Carving comes first in the Head Super Joy, a women's-specific frontside ski built around a lightweight wood core, Carbon Sandwich Cap Construction, and Head's Allride Rocker profile. The result is a ski that initiates effortlessly, rolls from edge to edge with very little input, and keeps the swing weight low enough to ski all day without fatigue.

Why we like it:

The integrated base plate and SLR binding make the step-in genuinely easy. That sounds like a small thing until you've fought with stubborn frontside bindings on a cold morning. The whole system is engineered for women skiers from the ground up, not adapted from a men's platform.

Who it's for:

Intermediate and advanced women skiers whose home turf is the groomed run, and who want a confidence-inspiring carver that's easy to drive without giving up performance. Great for skiers building toward true frontside expertise or experienced skiers who want a lighter, more responsive feel underfoot.

Highlights:

The LYT Tech Construction is what makes the whole Joy line tick: targeted material placement that puts strength where it's needed and trims weight everywhere else. Underneath that, Graphene reinforcement adds stiffness without weight, and the Carbon Sandwich Cap layup adds the kind of torsional snap that holds an edge through a clean carve. EMC piezo damping filters out chatter for a smooth, quiet ride on hard snow. The Women's Camber profile sets the geometry up for a lower center of mass and easier turn initiation, while the Allride Rocker keeps the tip from catching on softer or chopped-up snow. The integrated JOY BB SLR PRO base plate and SLR 11 GW binding finish the package.

Things to consider:

Stays in its lane as a frontside ski. The relatively narrow waist and shorter turn radius mean it's not going to float in softer snow the way a wider all-mountain ski would. The Absolut Joy sits beside it for skiers who want a slightly more accessible build, and the Total Joy is the step-up if you want more underfoot.

Fit & sizing considerations:

Stick with what you usually ride. Drop a length if you're newer to carving or want a more maneuverable feel; lengthen up for more stability as your pace builds.
