The 2027 Head WCR e-GS Rebel FIS is HEAD's full-spec giant slalom race ski, built to FIS regulations for World Cup, European Cup, and all Continental Cup competition. It gets refinements for the new season while holding onto the long-radius authority and World Cup sandwich layup that have defined the line. This is a long, fast, demanding ski that rewards racers who can actually drive a true GS arc.
Why we like it:
The way this ski engages and accelerates through the second half of a turn is what separates it from lesser GS skis. EMC keeps the chassis quiet at the kind of speeds where chatter starts to wreck technique, and the graphene reinforcement helps it stay light enough to handle without feeling like a log.
Who it's for:
FIS-class GS racers, college and elite junior racers transitioning to senior equipment, masters racers competing at a high level, and dedicated gate trainers. Built for racers who can handle a long radius and high speeds; not a ski for recreational free skiing.
Highlights:
The Graphene Worldcup Sandwich Construction is the heart of this ski, pairing a vertical-laminate wood core with full titanal layers and graphene reinforcement, all wrapped in phenolic sidewalls. It's the same essential layup the World Cup team races on, and it shows up underfoot as serious torsional stiffness and a flex pattern that asks for and delivers real power. EMC's ceramic piezo plates at the tip and tail handle damping, the RD Racing Top Sheet keeps weight off the deck for sharper handling, and the Race Structured High Speed UHM C Base with infrared waxing prep keeps speeds high. Rebel Camber underfoot stores energy for the kind of release that throws you into the next gate. WCR 14 Short raceplate is included and ready for Freeflex bindings.
Things to consider:
FIS GS spec means a long minimum length and a long minimum radius, which together make this ski a specialist tool. It is not friendly at low speeds, in tight terrain, or for skiers who aren't running gates. The price of admission is real technique.
Fit & sizing considerations:
Sized by FIS rules and racer weight rather than height. Coaches drive the size pick.
