The K2 Passport Jr is a youth-sized version of the adult Passport, built for kids who are ready to move on from a beginner-shaped board. It carries the same directional combination camber profile as the full-size board, scaled down for shorter lengths and lighter rider weights. The flex is soft enough to stay manageable, but the directional shape gives the board real edge hold when terrain gets serious. The Passport Jr is a strong fit for progressing youth riders who can hold a turn and want something that will keep up as their skill level grows over the next few seasons.
Why we like it:
The directional combination camber profile actually teaches good technique, kids learn to engage the camber underfoot rather than cheating with full rocker. And the matching graphics with the adult Passport are a small thing that turns out to matter a lot.
Who it's for:
Youth riders, roughly intermediate and progressing, who are ready to graduate from a full-rocker beginner board into something with real edge hold and a directional shape. The Passport Jr will keep up with their skill development for several seasons.
Highlights:
The Passport Jr keeps the Directional Combination Camber Profile from the adult Passport, with rocker in the nose for forgiveness, camber underfoot for edge engagement, and a small rocker section in the tail. The Aspen Core delivers a strong-to-weight ratio that's appropriate for youth riders, and it's paired with Biax Glass for lateral consistency. The Sintered 4000 base is Stone Ground from the factory, and the sidecut runs three radii at each length, which is tighter at the tip and tail to bite into a turn and longer underfoot to settle through it. The 2x4 Inserts mean the stance can grow with the rider.
Things to consider:
The Passport Jr is an intermediate youth board, and first-time riders will be better off on something with a fuller rocker profile and a softer flex. The Aspen Core also makes the Passport Jr lighter than the adult Passport but slightly less damp at speed, which is expected at this length and weight class.
Fit & sizing considerations:
Standard sizing recommendations apply for the Passport Jr's youth lengths. Use rider weight as the primary guide, with the size run (127, 131, 135, 139, 143) covering kids from very small up to lighter teens.
