Kids who like to play across the whole mountain finally have a ski built for that style in the Kastle Transcend Alpha. A twin rocker profile, lightweight wood and synthetic core, and full cap construction give young skiers a real freeride feel in a package that's easy to maneuver.

Why we like it:

Kastle didn't just shrink an adult ski here. The Transcend Alpha gets its own Symbio Core Light construction that's tuned specifically for junior weights and skill levels, plus the Twin Rocker shape that gives the ski real off-trail personality.

Who it's for:

Advancing junior skiers who like to explore the whole mountain. A great next step for kids who've outgrown beginner skis and want something with real freeride character for soft snow, side hits, and mini park features.

Highlights:

Symbio Core Light is the construction story for Kastle's juniors, built with poplar and synthetic absorber material to keep weight low without killing the feel of a real ski. The Full Cap construction is more forgiving than a sidewall build, which makes sense at junior weights and skill levels. Where the Transcend Alpha differentiates itself from Kastle's other juniors is the Twin Rocker profile, with rocker in both the tip and the tail. That's the same shape philosophy as the adult Transcend line, scaled appropriately. The result is a junior ski that handles soft snow, slashes, and side hits more naturally than a flat-cambered junior ski. The Hook Free Shovel and Tail let the ski release out of turns easily, which matters when a young skier is still building technique. At 760 grams in the 119cm length with a 75-90mm waist that varies along the length, the Transcend Alpha is light enough to be manageable but built well enough to feel like a real ski rather than a toy.

Things to consider:

Kids who ski almost exclusively on groomers will get more out of a more frontside-focused junior ski. The Twin Rocker shape favors variable terrain and soft snow over precise carving on hard pack.

Fit & sizing considerations:

Junior sizing. Pick the length that matches the skier's height and weight using standard junior sizing guidelines from your local shop.
