The Armada AntiMatter 100 W gives strong women skiers a true freeride all-mountain ski, with titanal laminate for real high-speed composure. A poplar core, freeride rocker in the tip and tail, and a modern shape that's eager to slash and pop keep it from feeling like a plank, so it moves easily from firm groomers to soft snow off the trail. The result is a quiver-killing ski that stays planted when you open it up and still feels playful when you want to have fun with the terrain.
Why we like it:
We love how the Speedmetal titanal calms things down at speed without killing the poplar core's energy. The ski feels damp when you're charging chopped snow but still lively when you load it into a turn, and the freeride shape makes it easy to break loose and smear, which isn't always true of metal skis.
Who it's for:
This ski is for advanced and expert women who ski the whole mountain at speed and want one ski for groomers, chop, trees and powder days. It's a great match for a confident skier stepping up from a lighter all-mountain ski who wants more stability without giving up a playful feel.
Highlights:
Armada builds the AntiMatter 100 W in four lengths from 154 to 175 cm. The waist stays at 100 mm across the run, while the turn radius grows from 14 m in the shortest size to 17 m in the longest. At 168 cm it measures 130 mm at the tip and 120 mm at the tail with a 16 m radius. Freeride Rocker lifts the tip and tail for float and easy pivoting, with camber underfoot for grip. Inside, a poplar core gives the ski its pop, and Speedmetal titanal layers add damping and stability at speed. AR100 sidewalls, an All Mountain Edge and a Comp Series base round out a build that's meant to be skied hard.
Things to consider:
The titanal layup gives this ski a more serious, damp feel than a freestyle-leaning ski, so it rewards an active, centered stance and some speed. Skiers who want a lighter, poppier ride should look at the ARW 100, and those who spend most of their time on firm groomers may prefer the narrower AntiMatter 92 W.
Fit & sizing considerations:
The AntiMatter 100 W skis true to length, so most skiers can stick with their usual all-mountain size. Bump up a length for more float and stability in soft snow, or drop one for quicker turns in trees and bumps.
