Burton AK Clutch Gore-Tex Gloves

Leather where it counts and a waterproof, breathable insert underneath make the Burton [ak] Clutch GORE-TEX Glove a serious all-mountain and touring glove. It pairs a leather palm with a stretchy softshell back, light premium synthetic insulation, and an extended undercuff. The result is a glove that grips poles, straps, and skins confidently, stays dry through a wet storm, and doesn't cook your hands on the skin track.

Why we like it:

The removable wrist leash is a small detail we lean on constantly. Pull the glove off to deal with a binding or a zipper and it just hangs there instead of disappearing off the chairlift.

Features and Functions:

Burton pre-curves the fingers on the [ak] Clutch, so the glove sits in a natural grip position and doesn't fight you when you close your hand around a pole. The palm is cow leather for durability, with a goat leather reinforcement patch where wear concentrates, and the back is Burton's DRYRIDE softshell fabric for a bit of stretch. Inside, a GORE-TEX membrane built with Gore Active Technology keeps out water and wind while letting moisture escape, which matters when you're working hard on a climb. PrimaLoft Gold insulation is used in a lightweight construction, so there's warmth without much bulk, and a brushed microfiber lining with soft fleece sits against the skin. The extended storm cuff is designed to tuck under your jacket sleeve, a goat suede nose wipe sits on the thumb, and a cuff pull loop plus a webbing hang loop make it easy to pull on and clip off.

Bottom Line:

The Clutch is best for riders who split time between resort laps and short tours and want one glove that handles both. Pick it when dexterity and breathability matter more than maximum warmth; it's the glove you reach for on active days rather than the coldest lift-bound ones.
