K2 Flipjaw Freeride Poles

Adjustable freeride poles get a no-nonsense treatment in the K2 Flipjaw Freeride. The quick-adjust Flipjaw lever lets you change pole length on the fly, and a lightweight aluminum upper paired with a rock-solid lower keeps the pole feeling stiff and predictable when you're charging. It's a versatile setup for skiers who tour, hike for turns, or just want one pole that works at multiple lengths.

Why we like it:

The Flipjaw adjustment mechanism is easier to use than most lever-clamp systems out there, even with gloves on. It locks securely and doesn't slip under hand load, which is a real differentiator in this category.

Highlights:

The Flipjaw uses an adjustable 7075 aluminum shaft, which is a stronger and stiffer grade of aluminum than the more common 6061 you'll see on entry-level poles. Up top, the Freeride Dual Injection grip pairs a softer rubber overmold for cushioned comfort with a firmer base material for a secure hold. A 70mm Freeride basket sits at the business end, slightly larger than a standard groomer basket to keep the pole from punching too deep on soft-snow plants without going full powder basket. Lengths adjust from 100 to 120cm or 110 to 135cm depending on which size you grab.
