Footwear traction for trail runners and hikers that should also be considered by casual walkers looking for a lightweight solution to grip on icy surfaces, this is an industry first: a TPU traction matrix that is lighter weight and more abrasion resistant than steel. The Kahtoola EXOspikes enable runners and walkers to take on a variety of terrain and conditions, including frozen trails, packed snow, icy roads, dirt, mud, and rocks. Designed to fit trail runners and light hikers there are twelve integrated spikes per foot to deliver three levels of traction: tungsten carbide tips bite into ice and packed snow, aluminum steps grip uneven surfaces, and TPU lugs dig into loose terrain. The open design TPU traction matrix is extremely durable, sheds snow, and adapts to a wide variety of flexible footwear, including low cut shoes. An integrated toe bail provides added security by preventing the toe from pushing through the front of the elastomer harness, while a raised heel tab for pulling back makes pulling these off quick and easy. The TPE elastomer harness geometry optimizes fit around and under the foot and allows for easy on, no more teeth clenched tugging. Low-profile and highly durable, the elastomer remains stretchy in cold temperatures all the way down to -22°F (-30°C). Wash with lukewarm water and air dry, do not apply heat, and insure these are clean and dry before storing. Inspect before each use as you put them on so you can head out onto the trail confidently and securely.
