The woman’s specific version of the Vantage MIPS helmet, this is the helmet for any woman who would like all the protection she can get in a vented woman’s specific helmet. Aerocore™ construction features Koroyd®, which is visible as little honeycombs through the vents. Koroyd® is designed to collapse in a controlled crush on impact, absorbing additional energy before it is transferred to the head. The MIPS, or multidirectional impact protection system is designed to absorb energy from an oblique blow. If you’re looking for a woman’s specific helmet, with its softer x-static performance liner and ear pads, but unwilling to sacrifice safety, this is your helmet. Is it the top of the line helmet Smith offers? Ah0 no. The Quantum has additionally an exoskeleton zonal impact protection system, which gives additional protection in critical impact areas. The Quantum is unisex, it is available in smaller sizes for women, but it is not women specific, as the Vantage is. If you are seriously pushing the boundaries you might want to push up into the Quantum for that exoskeleton. Most women, however, even very aggressive skiers, will find the Vantage is comfortable and affords them the protection and comfort they’re looking for in a helmet.
