The Specialized Rime 2.0 Mountain Bike Shoe was designed and made for what Specialized calls “High-Alpine Terrain” riding. That’s means rough, rocky steep and rugged trails that have no mercy to those who try and ride it. With the Rime 2.0 shoe, you have the capability to at least tame this type of terrain. With a Vibram rubber sole, you get excellent traction when needing to walk over sharp rock, scree and shale. A cushioned EVA foam midsole provides added comfort with a molded heel cup for added stability when walking or pedaling through rough terrain. X PEL hydrophobic mesh construction gives the shoes great breathability, and if they happen to get wet, they dry out very quickly. For entry, exit and quick on-the-fly adjustability, the Rime 2.0 uses the patented BOA dial system, which assists the laces and tightens or loosens over the forefoot with a quick turn of a dial. The is a clipless shoe, that is compatible with all major clip-in pedal brands that uses a two-bolt cleat pattern.
