A lot of snowshoe technology shares traits with modern skis, with the rocker profile and the turned-up tips and tails. The Fit-Step frame follows suit, with the upturned tail that provides an easier step and reducing strain on the body. Tubbs is claiming a 10% reduction in impact, and that’ll make anyone’s experience out there in the snow a lot more enjoyable. Also, in terms of efficiency, the rotating toe card articulation system allows the snowshoe to tip back on the stride, letting any snow that has built up to slide right off. When there’s less weight on the snowshoe, your workload goes down. While snowshoeing can be a very good workout, there’s no reason to make it any harder, unless you want to wear ankle weights or fill your backpack with bricks.
